Chapter 7: Marketing with Snapchat

 This chapter talked about how to market on Snapchat. Snapchat is among one of the biggest social media platforms in the world, with 557 million monthly active users. The most popular countries are India and the United States. 

Snapchat was founded in 2011 and was said to be a "Disappearing Picture" app. In it, users can send temporary pictures to their friends that disappear after a while. This instantly became a hit as it was different from all the other social media apps that have posts that last forever unless they are deleted.  Marketing on Snapchat is a good way to reach the younger demographic, as the majority of their user base is in the 18-24 age range. Snapchat’s advertising service is very effective. Snap ads receive twice the visual attention of Facebook ads, 1.5 times more than Instagram ads, and are 1.3 times more effective than YouTube. Putting an ad on Snapchat is a good move for any business, as users love the app, and see your product as a quality product since it is on Snapchat.

Snapchat has been a very popular social media app for a while and it doesn't seem like it's slowing down. It is an effective way to advertise your product due to the way they put content in the app. This chapter helped me understand Snapchat a little bit more as I really didn't know how Snapchat's algorithm worked that well.
