When I showed back up in Ada, I expected everything to pretty much be the same as they were. However, I was in for a big surprise when I pulled up to Ada. I come to find out that all of the wind turbines that were at the back of campus were gone, and there were these brand new delivery service robots rolling around campus.
I never saw an announcement about them, and now all of a sudden they are here! I learn how to deliver with them through an app called everyday. Their menu consisted of Mac, cakes, and cookies. Wow cafe is not on there yet but the app says its coming very soon. I ended up ordering a cake, and i was shocked to learn that the delivery fee was much less than the standard delivery apps like DoorDash and UberEats. This is a big upside as the other delivery apps can charge up to almost 10 dollars. I ordered my food and waited for the robot to show up to where I live. I then pressed a button on the app to open the robot, and I picked up my food and the robot went on its merry way.
I think once WoW Cafe gets added to the app, it will have massive upsides, as I won't have to walk all the way there and back. I recommend everyone to order from the robot at least once, as its a very cool experience. I will definitely order delivery again once WoW Cafe is on it.
The robots from WoW are definitely one of my favorite additions the university put money into. It is nice to see the university put in funds to upgrade our dining options. I have not tried it yet but I am more inclined to after reading this blog. I hope these bots come in handy during the beginning of the winter season so I do not have to worry about the icy walkways. This was a huge addition to the university and I can not wait to see the next improvement to the food here!
ReplyDeleteI also did not know about the robots on campus until I crossed paths with one while walking back to my apartment. It was as if I was in Japan where they have cool robots at some restaurants. I have heard from some that the robot service is costly while other students say what you said about the robots being cheaper than Door Dash. I have not used the robots yet but considering I live at Stadium View I might look into them when the weather gets cooler. I heard a false rumor that one of them had ended up in the pond. They are very cute to me so I will defend them from harm.
