Chapter 1 Summary- Social Media is forever Growing.

 

    After reading this first chapter, I learned that social media is forever growing and is getting more influence every year. It is predicted that about 5.85 billion people will be using social media by the year 2027. This chapter also pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of social media for businesses. Some of the advantages were things like how it increases brand awareness and loyalty as well as increases website traffic. Some of the disadvantages were that it lacks an emotional face-to-face connection as well as opening brands up to negative feedback. Marketing through social media is one of the best ways to sell your product because of the chance to go viral, which allows more people to see your product.

    An Ah-Ha moment I had was that in section 5, the text mentioned that 93 percent of social media marketers said that social media was almost essential in order to build a brand. This shocked me because i feel as though some companies don't use social media and rely a lot on commercials and newspapers. It turns out that a lot of companies know that social media is important, but don't know how to use. My duh moment was being reminded that with the growth of social media, so have jobs in that field. I really liked this first chapter and hope that the second chapter is just as interesting
